What’s Behind the iCloud Icon

iCloud is the new service that Apple will launch this fall together with iOS 5.0 (the new operating system for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch). It stores your documents and files and wirelessly and automatically pushes them to your devices so that they’re always synced and updated.
But today I want to focus on something else, not the service, but the icon.
Apple, as always, creates great minimalistic designs and at the same time impresses with details. The iCloud icon is a very simple cloud, with a sleek metallic effect, but maybe not everyone knows that behind the cloud there’s the golden ratio applied in 3 areas. The sizes of the two circles or the right and the two on the left are linked by the golden ratio and so is the total width of the cloud with its height.

Thanks to the guys from Little Big Details for giving designers so many interesting details about UI every day!
